Singapore Airlines has once again included their fifth freedom route between JFK and Frankfurt in this month's Spontaneous Escapes promo. There are plenty of dates with business class space for two people from Frankfurt in May (outbound space is nonexistent).

Flight Experience
Singapore Airlines operates a Boeing 777 on the Frankfurt route. The business class cabin is arranged in a 1-2-1 layout so each seat has direct aisle access on both aircraft.
While the seats are lie-flat, you have to sleep diagonally in the bed position because of the way the foot wells are situated. If you're taller, you might find this a touch annoying. The bulkhead seats have a larger footwell.
The crews are known for being proactive and friendly. Some would say they're among the best in the air. Similarly, the inflight catering gets high marks.

Best Ways To Book
Singapore: Slight Advantage With Promo, More Space
If you're flying in May, Singapore KrisFlyer has a slight advantage over Aeroplan - 56,700 miles vs 60,000 points. You can transfer Amex, Capital One, Chase, and Citi points to Singapore KrisFlyer.
Please note that transfers to Singapore aren't usually instant, especially if you haven't transferred to them previously. However, in my experience, Capital One transfers are instant.
Air Canada: Great Rate, Best Option With Chase Points
Outside the promo dates, Aeroplan is your best at 60,000 points for a one-way ticket if they have access to the award space.
If you have the Chase Aeroplan Card, you can also get a 10% transfer bonus when you transfer 50,000+ Chase points. That means you could transfer 55,000 Chase points to get the 60,000 Aeroplan points.
Please note that connections could increase the award rate, but it will still likely be a better option than Singapore KrisFlyer.

- Select Redeem flights
- Enter origin/destination
- Select date(s)
- From calendar, you can select one-way
- Select class of service
- Select number of passengers
If you're concerned about delays when transferring points to Singapore, you can call and see if they'll hold the award space.

Whether you can get them to hold award space really depends on the phone agent so be ready to hang up, call again (HUCA). If they refuse, stay friendly and don't argue.
If booking with Aeroplan points, I would search with Air Canada as Singapore Airlines sometimes provides additional award space to KrisFlyer members. To search with Aeroplan:

Final Thoughts
Even if Frankfurt isn't high on your list to visit, it's a fantastic jumping off point to see other cities in Germany and other countries in Europe.
