Singapore Air Business Class JFK to Frankfurt
If you're in the market for a nice business class fare deal to Europe, Singapore Air has a nice one on their fifth-freedom route between JFK and Frankfurt.
The key to making this a great deal is the targeted Amex Offer that, hopefully, many of you have on one of your Amex cards.
Now, let's get into the details!

Flight Experience
Singapore Airlines operates Airbus A380s on these routes. The business class cabin is arranged in a 1-2-1 layout so each seat has direct aisle access.
While the seats are lie-flat, you have to sleep diagonally in the bed position because of the way the foot wells are situated. If you're taller, you might find this a touch annoying. The bulkhead seats are a bit better though.
The crews are known for being proactive and friendly. Some would say they're among the best in the air. Similarly, the inflight catering gets high marks.
I suggest using the online Book the Cook feature to ensure you get your first choice meal.

Best Ways To Book
While Singapore business class for $2,087 round-trip is a solid fare, you can use an Amex Offer to make this even better. Select cardholders currently have an Amex offer for $300 back when you spend $1,500+ on Singapore Airlines.
With this Amex Offer, you can get the out of pocket cost down to ~$1,787 after the statement credit is applied.
Unfortunately, the $2,087 fare is only available directly via Singapore Airlines. If you have the Sapphire Reserve, you can cash out points to cover dining purchases at 1.5 cents per point to offset the cost via Pay Yourself Back.

Where To Credit The Flights
Since these are cash tickets, you can earn redeemable airline miles so make sure to attach your desired loyalty program number to your booking.
If you're not sure which program to use, check Where To Credit to see which options will earn you the most redeemable miles. Here are several examples worth your consideration:
- Air Canada Aeroplan: 125%
- Alaska Mileage Plan: 200%
- Avianca LifeMiles: 125%
- Singapore KrisFlyer: 125%
- Turkish Miles&Smiles: 125%
- United MileagePlus: 100%
- Virgin Atlantic: 125%
If you hold elite status with Alaska Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, or a Star Alliance carrier, that could play a role in your decision.
For those who don't maintain airline status, I generally suggest choosing an option that pairs well with a transferable points program.
You can use GCMap to check the total flight distance if you want to calculate redeemable and status qualifying miles.

Final Thoughts
While Frankfurt isn't a tourism hotspot, it's easy to get to just about anywhere in Europe from there so this could be a nice way to position you for a trip to Italy, Greece, or any number of other countries.
Happy booking!
