Etihad Apartments, London to Abu Dhabi 4+ Seats
Hello from London!
Etihad just restarted flights on their A380s between Abu Dhabi and London. That means The Apartments are back in the sky. In fact, I'll be flying The Apartments myself soon so I'll let you know what the experience is like now.
While I don't usually send award space that doesn't touch North America, this is a special case. It's one of those flights that's worth prioritizing if you're interested in visiting two regions on a trip!

Flight Experience
Etihad's Apartments are arranged in a 1-1 cabin layout. Your seat is separate from your bed. Personally, I like the rear-facing window seats (3A and 3K). Plus, there's an inflight shower. You can expect caviar, champagne, and a very nice meal. With only 9 seats in the cabin, the service is also quite impressive.

Best Ways To Book
American AAdvantage: Connections Don't Increase Award Rate
At 62,500 miles, American AAdvantage provides a great way to book a one-way award without surcharges. You can include a connection on AA's partners within Europe or within the Middle East/to the Indian Subcontinent for no additional miles.
Air Canada Aeroplan: Best With Chase Transfer Bonus
Air Canada isn't showing Etihad first class award space online, but I've heard reports of people being able to call to book recently. It might be worth a quick call given how easy it is to earn Aeroplan points.
The 20% Chase transfer bonus would mean you only need 55,000 Ultimate Rewards points to book.
You can include connections on any of Air Canada's partners. However, the award rate could increase.

- Choose the number of passengers
- Select Class as Business/First
- Click Search
American will let you put award space on hold for up to 5 days.
Air Canada has not been showing Etihad availability, so your best bet is to call Aeroplan after finding space on AA. Hopefully, Aeroplan will see the space. Please let me know how it goes if you call!

Final Thoughts
The Apartments are back! Hopefully, the A380 will come back to the US soon but, until then, the London route is your best bet. Even better, you and a ton of friends can book together!
