Both airlines operate a few different aircraft on these routes. Since the business class cabin layout depend on the aircraft, here's a quick rundwon:

Flying Blue: Great Rates, Free Stopover, More Space
The saver level award rate between the US and Europe is already quite good at 50,000 miles on-way. However, the promo rate to/from Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto is an amazing 37,500 miles.
With the Bilt transfer bonus, you'll need the following points based on status:
- Platinum: 20,000 (Saver), 15,000 (Promo)
- Gold: 23,000 (Saver), 17,000 (Promo)
- Silver: 25,000 (Saver), 19,000 (Promo)
- Blue: 29,000 (Saver), 22,000 (Promo)
Connections on partners will generally increase the award rate.
You can include a stopover but you'll need to call to book.

You can pick either Air France or KLM's site and run your search. I use Air France and the process works like this:
- Select "Book with miles"
- Select "Log in"
- Sign into your account
- Enter your origin/destination
- Enter your travel date(s)
- Enter the number of passengers
- Enter the class of service
- Run the search
- Select your flights
- Click through to book
Transfers to Flying Blue are generally instant so you don't usually need to worry about award space vanishing. However, you can call and have them hold award space for you. The US number is 800 375-8723.
If you want to book a free stopover, you'll need to call to book.

Final Thoughts
Whether you book the saver level award at 50,000 miles one-way or the promo rate of 37,500 miles one-way, it's a great option to Europe. If you can take advantage of the Bilt transfer bonus, that's where things get crazy!
