Once I sent the JFK space, I figured I'd check LAX as well.
Well, Cathay has opened up a nice chunk of first class space on their LAX too. This could be an better option if you live on the west coast or in he midwest.
Cathay's first class cabin is arranged in a 1-1-1 layout so everyone has direct aisle access and a massive lie-flat seat. The bedding is some of my favorite in the sky. You can expect a solid meal and great champagne. If you fly out of Hong Kong, make some time for a lounge visit and check out The Pier

Cathay: Your Only Option
While Cathay's award rates are a bit steep 125,000 one-way, they're our only option to book this one. It really just comes down to whether you want to transfer Amex, Bilt, Capital One, or Citi points.
Please keep in mind that connections will increase the award rate.
If you want to use Asia Miles and include a connecting flight on Alaska or American, you'll need to call (833-933-2244) to complete the booking.
