Flight Experience
American operates a Boeing 777 out of JFK and MIA. Business class is arranged in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone cabin layout so each seat is lie-flat and has direct aisle access. All things considered, it's nice seat.
Flights out of PHL are on a Boeing 787. The cabin layout is 1-2-1 and some seats are rear facing. Many consider the 777 to be a nicer experience.
You may prefer to eat at the Greenwich Lounge (JFK) or the Flagship Lounge (MIA). Inflight service can be a mixed bag but American has a solid selection of entertainment options to keep you occupied.

Best Ways To Book
Cathay: Solid Rate, Reduced Surcharges, Easy To Earn
At 63,000 miles one-way and limited surcharges, Cathay Asia Miles is probably the best option for most people since you can transfer points from Amex, Bilt, Capital One, and Citi.
Qantas: Solid Rate, Reduced Surcharges, Easy To Earn
Qantas isn't usually a great option, but 68,400 points to/from Europe is a solid one-way business class award rate especially when you consider that you can transfer Amex, Capital One, and Citi points.
Alaska: Great Rate, No Surcharges
While Alaska miles are tough to earn, you can book for only 57,500 miles one-way and you won't be on the hook for any surcharges.
American: Solid Round-Trip Rate, No Surcharges
If you have American miles or Bilt points, you can book most dates with 93,500 miles one-way or round-trip for 130,000 miles. Like Alaska, you won't be on the hook for surcharges, but it's really only worth booking round-trip. Though, you might prefer to save your miles for something else.
