Starlux Airlines Business Class to Taipei

Starlux Airlines just released award space on its San Francisco route!

When Starlux opened up business class award space on the Los Angeles route, we saw space for up to 6 people. However, saver level space didn't even last 24 hours. So, I would book ASAP if you want to give it a try.

While I'm only seeing saver level award space for one person on the new SFO route, I wanted to flag the space since it's a rare find.

Now, et's get into it!

Flight Experience

The business class cabin is arranged in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout. Each seat is lie-flat, has direct aisle access, and a privacy door.

I flew Starlux to Los Angeles recently and really enjoyed it.

The crew was friendly and proactive throughout the flight and the food is great. The food was really impressive and they served Bollinger champagne.

The amenity kit is a mini hardshell suitcase but the contents are standard. The PJs looked comfy but even the largest size was too small for me.

Best Ways To Book

Alaska Mileage Plan: The Only Option

Alaska isn't just the only way to book. It's also a solid option for a business class flight to Asia at 75,000 miles one-way.

I did not see award space at the 75,000-mile rate when including a connection on Alaska nor did I see connections to other cities in Asia.

How To Book

You can use United or Alaska's site to run a calendar search and see your options. Here's how to run the search with Alaska:
  1. If you want to book a one-way, check "One-way"
  2. Check "Use miles"
  3. Enter your origin & destination
  4. Select your dates
  5. Select number of passengers
  6. Run the search
  7. Complete the booking
If you want to see a calendar of options, you'll want to use this page to search.

Final Thoughts

I would book ASAP considering how quickly saver level award space was pulled when Starlux released award space out of LAX. While I loved my flight with them, I don't know that I'd use 165,000 miles one-way (non saver rate).

Happy booking!
