AA Business Class To Madrid, Up To 4 Seats
Hello again from Singapore!
On the heals of American business class award space to Barcelona, we have some space to Madrid from New York and Charlotte.
Personally, I love Madrid and can't wait to go back. Great food, wine, history, etc. It's hard to go wrong. Check out the famous cocktail bar Salmon Guru, go on a food tour, and just explore!
While including a connection can increase the award rate, I'm seeing additional dates with availability. American is weird like that.

Flight Experience
American operates a Boeing 777-200 on these two routes. Business class is arranged in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone cabin layout so each seat is lie-flat and has direct aisle access. All things considered, it's nice seat.
You may prefer to eat at the Greenwich Lounge (JFK) or the Flagship Lounge (CLT). Inflight service can be a mixed bag but American has a solid selection of entertainment options to keep you occupied.

Best Ways To Book
Qantas: Great Rate, Reduced Surcharges
It's rare that Qantas is a great option, but at 57,000 miles one-way on the JFK route + ~$227 taxes/fees (~$265 for the return flight), it's a great option for those with Amex, Capital One, Citi points.
Alaska: Great Rate, No Surcharges
While Alaska miles are tough to earn, you can book for only 57,500 miles one-way and you won't be on the hook for any surcharges.
American: Solid Rates, No Surcharges
If you have American miles or Bilt points, you can book most dates with 78,000 miles one-way or round-trip for 130,000 miles. A few dates are available at 67,000 miles one-way. Like Alaska, you won't be on the hook for surcharges.

Final Thoughts
It's great to see American releasing business class award space to Spain. It's a country that has so much to offer. Whether you stay in Madrid or continue onto Barcelona or another city, you won't be disappointed.
