I feel like a broken record on this, but transpacific business class award space continues to be tough. With that in mind, I wanted to flag some business class space on Singapore Air’s fifth freedom flight between LAX and Tokyo.
Unfortunately, Aeroplan doesn’t have access to the space so we’ll have to make do with KrisFlyer’s steeper rates. Still, if it’s the difference between going and not going, it could be worth it!

Singapore Airlines operates a Boeing 777 on this fifth freedom route route. The business class cabin on both aircraft is arranged in a 1-2-1 layout so each seat has direct aisle access on both aircraft.
While the seats are lie-flat, you have to sleep diagonally in the bed position because of the way the foot wells are situated. If you're taller, you might find this a touch annoying. The bulkhead seats have more legroom, esp. in the bed position.
The crews are known for being proactive and friendly. Some would say they're among the best in the air. Similarly, the inflight catering gets high marks.
