Flight Experience

Singapore Airlines operates a Boeing 777 on this fifth freedom route route. The business class cabin on both aircraft is arranged in a 1-2-1 layout so each seat has direct aisle access on both aircraft.

While the seats are lie-flat, you have to sleep diagonally in the bed position because of the way the foot wells are situated. If you're taller, you might find this a touch annoying. The bulkhead seats have more legroom, esp. in the bed position.

The crews are known for being proactive and friendly. Some would say they're among the best in the air. Similarly, the inflight catering gets high marks.

Use the online Book the Cook feature to ensure you get your preferred meal.

How To Book

If booking with Singapore KrisFlyer, search with Singapore Airlines.

  1. Go to Singapore Air

  2. Log into your account

  3. Select Redeem flights

  4. Enter origin/destination

  5. Select date(s)

    • From calendar, you can select one-way

  6. Select class of service

  7. Select number of passengers

If you're concerned about delays when transferring points to Singapore, you can call and see if they'll hold the award space.

  • US Line: 833-727-0118

  • Singapore Line: +65 6223 8888

Whether you can get them to hold award space really depends on the phone agent so be ready to hang up, call again (HUCA). If they refuse, stay friendly and don't argue.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a trip to Japan in early 2025, this could be just the ticket! Besides, who doesn’t love a fun fifth freedom route when its on such a well regarded airline such as Singapore Airlines.

Happy booking!
