On the Boeing 777, AIr New Zealand's business class is arranged in a 1-2-1 herringbone layout. Each seat is lie-flat and has direct aisle access.

Please note that this is herringbone NOT reverse herringbone. Each seat is angled toward the aisle rather than away from it so there isn't as much privacy. Some will find the seats a bit narrow, but the bedding is nice.

The other highlight is probably the catering. Given the quality of the headphones and small IFE screen, you might want to bring your own headphones and download some movies and shows on your phone/tablet

Aeroplan: Great Option, Best With Chase Transfer Bonus

If you have Amex, Bilt, Capital One, or Chase points, Aeroplan is your best bet at 75,000 points. Even at 150,000 miles round-trip, you might prefer Aeroplan over ANA has transfers are typically instant while Amex transfers to ANA are not.

Chase Transfer Bonus To Aeroplan

Chase’s 20% transfer bonus gives Aeroplan an advantage over ANA Mileage Club  when booking round-trip as you’ll only need to transfer 125,000 for the round-trip. You’d need 63,000 points for a one-way.

If you have the Chase Aeroplan Card, you can get a 10% bonus when you transfer 50,000+ Chase points. That would bring the total bonus to 30% which means you’d only need to transfer 116,000 points round-trip or 58,000 points one-way.

ANA Mileage Club: Great Round-Trip Rate With Amex Points

If you have Amex points and are booking round-trip, 145,000 ANA miles is a solid option. Just keep in mind that transfers from Amex can take a few days.

Lifemiles: Solid Option With Citi Points

If you only have Citi points to use on this one, Lifemiles is a solid choice at 80,000 miles for a one-way award ticket.

4. Enter the origin & destination

5. Select Nonstop only (if you don't need a connection)

6. Select the number of passengers

7. Select your dates or choose Flexible dates and choose a month

8. Select Business

9. Run the search

10. If booking with another Star Alliance partner, confirm space by searching with that program

11. Transfer points (if necessary)

12. Log into your account

13. Run the search again

14. Complete the booking
