Discover Airlines Business Class, Up To 9 Seats

Previously known as Eurowings Discover, Discover Airlines is a leisure airline owned by the Lufthansa group. As you’ll see below, it operates flights on a number of routes not typically served by airlines. This could be particularly useful for those that don’t live near major international gateway airports.

Now, let’s get into it!

Flight Experience

Discover Airlines operates two business cabins. The most common is similar to the 2-2-2 cabin layout you’ll find on its partner company Lufthansa. Less common, but better, is the staggered 1-2-1 layout they operate on some flights.

Regardless of aircraft, you’ll have a lie-flat seat. However, the staggered 1-2-1 layout provides direct aisle access to all passengers and you’ll have more privacy.

This product won’t any awards, but it’s a lie-flat seat to Europe!

Best Ways To Book

Aeroplan: Great Rate, No Surcharges

Aeroplan will generally be your best option at either 60,000 or 70,000 points depending on the route you book.

If you have the Chase Aeroplan Card, you can get a 10% bonus if you transfer 50,000+ Chase Ultimate Rewards to Aeroplan. That means you’d only need to transfer 55,000 or 64,000 Chase points for most bookings.

You can also include a stopover for 5,000 additional miles. Use GCmap to calculate your total flight distance and double-check Aeroplan's award chart.

United: Solid West Coast Option With Chase

If you have Chase points and are connecting from the west coast, United will have a small advantage over Aeroplan at 88,000 miles one-way. You can also utilize The Excursionist Perk on a round-trip award ticket to include a free one-way award ticket within Europe. Practically speaking, this is United’s version of a stopover.
