Air France-KLM Business Class, Up To 8 Seats
I sent an alert with Air France business class award space just nine days ago, but it seems both Air France and KLM have released a bunch of dates across many of their routes to Paris and Amsterdam, respectively, this summer.
While I don't have all the dates pulled, I wanted to flag this since I expect space could get booked or pulled in the meantime.
To make things easier, run an award search on Air France or KLM but don't select a date. When you run a search without dates selected, you'll see a calendar of availability.
The miles displayed on the calendar will be the total for all passengers. If you select one passenger, you'll want to find dates showing 50,000 miles. With 2 passengers, it's 100,000 miles. With 3 passengers, it's 150,000 miles. You get the picture.
I haven't done this before, so let me know if you like the quick heads up for (potentially) time-sensitive award space or if you'd prefer that I pull dates first.
Now, let's get into the details.

Book Your Stay In Paris With VIP Perks
Paris is a city filled with luxury hotels. If I included them all, this newsletter would get out of hand, so I'm just flagging some some of the options.

Flight Experience
For the best experience, you'll want to find Air France and KLM flights operated by aircraft with a 1-2-1 business class cabin layout. This will provide the most privacy and direct aisle access in addition to a lie-flat seat.

Best Ways To Book
Flying Blue: Great Rates, Free Stopover, More Award Space
Flying Blue's saver level award rate between the US and Europe is quite good at 50,000 miles one-way. The fact that you can transfer points from Amex, Bilt, Capital One, Chase, and Citi make it easy to earn the miles necessary.
You can include a stopover on a one-way but you'll need to call to book.
Connections on partners will generally increase the award rate.
Virgin Atlantic: Amazing Rate With Amex & Chase Transfer Bonuses
With the 30% transfer bonuses from Amex and Chase, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club jumps Flying Blue as the best way to book. However, you won't find nearly as much award space with Virgin. Still, it's worth a look if once you settle on travel dates.
If you have Amex or Chase points, the 30% transfer bonus means you'll only need to transfer the following:
- Off-peak: 38,000 points
- Peak: 45,000 points

How To Book
You can pick either Air France or KLM's site and run your search. I use Air France and the process works like this:
- Select "Book with miles"
- Select "Log in"
- Sign into your account
- Enter your origin/destination
- Enter your travel date(s)
- If you don't enter a date, you can see a calendar of dates
- Enter the number of passengers
- Enter the class of service
- Run the search
- Select your flights
- Click through to book
Transfers to Flying Blue are generally instant so you don't usually need to worry about award space vanishing. You can call to hold award space or book a stopover. The US number is 800-375-8723.
To put a ticket on hold with Virgin Atlantic, call 800-862-8621.

Final Thoughts
Using 50,000 miles for a one-way business class ticket to Europe is a great way to book. While Virgin Atlantic doesn't have access to most dates, it's a great way to book with a transfer bonus if you can find a date with space!
Happy booking!
