Flight Experience

While LATAM operates many flights to the U.S. with their older 2-2-2 business class cabin layout, these flights should have the newer 1-2-1 staggered cabin layout.

As for the catering and crew, both get solid marks overall.

Best Ways To Book

Alaska: Amazing Option with Amex or Bilt Points

If you have Bilt points, Alaska Mileage Plan is a great option at 35,000 miles one-way. Please note that connections could increase the miles required.

If you have Amex points you can transfer points to Hawaiian Airlines then move them to your Alaska account. You can also buy Hawaiian miles with a 100% bonus until 11:59pm HST on November 15 (that’s today). Practically speaking, you’d be buying Hawaiian miles at 1.25 cents per mile.

Virgin: Amazing Option with Chase/Citi Transfer Bonuses

At 50,000 points, Virgin Atlantic’s one-way rate isn’t as good as Alaska’s but it’s a solid option when you consider all of its transfer partners. Plus, with the Chase and Citi transfers bonuses of 40% and 30%, respectively, it’s nearly as good as Alaska!

With those transfer bonuses, you’d only need 36,000 Chase points or 39,000 Citi points for a one-way award ticket!

BA: Great Option from MIA with Capital One Transfer Bonus

At 50,500 Avios for a one-way from MIA, you’d only need 42,100 Capital One Miles thanks to a 20% transfer bonus.
