Brussels Airlines Business Class, Up To 4 Seats

Brussels Airlines has what you might call a workhorse business class. It’s not fancy, but you get a lie-flat seat to Europe and that means a lot. With Bilt’s 50% transfer bonus to lifemiles launching in less than 48 hours, this could be a great option!

Flight Experience

The business class cabin has a combo 1-2-1/2-1-2 cabin layout. All seats are lie-flat but only some seats have direct aisle access. If you're sitting with someone and you both want direct aisle access, choose a middle section.

You can expect a solid meal and an impressive beer selection. The fact that they give you a little box of chocolates at the end of the flight is a nice touch. The lack of WiFi could be something to consider.

Additionally, Brussels Airlines doesn't have a reputation for an impressive selection of movies and TV shows. You might want to download some options to your phone or tablet for this flight.

Throne seats may only be selected a few days prior to departure.

Best Ways To Book

Aeroplan: Great One-Way Award Rate

Aeroplan is your best option with Amex, Bilt, Capital One, and Chase points at 60,000 points one-way. if you connect, you’ll likely exceed 4,000 flight miles and need 70,000 points.

If you have the Chase Aeroplan Card, you can also get a 10% transfer bonus when you transfer 50,000+ Chase points. To get the 60,000 Aeroplan points needed for the non-stop, you’d need to transfer 55,000 Chase points. With a connection, you’d still only need 64,000 Chase points to get 70,000 Aeroplan points.

You can also include a stopover for 5,000 additional miles. Use GCmap to calculate your total flight distance and double-check Aeroplan's award chart.

Lifemiles: Amazing Option On Sept 1 With Bilt Transfer Bonus

As a result of the recent devaluation, Aeroplan is now a better option. In fact, lifemiles will only save you 1,000 points when you connect - 69,000 miles vs 70,000 points.

However, if you transfer Bilt points on September 1, you can get a 50% bonus which will make lifemiles the best option by far. With the bonus, you’ll only need to transfer 46,000 Bilt points.

If you redeem a ton of lifemiles each year, it might be worth getting a lifemiles+ subscription to get a 10% rebate on Star Alliance redemptions.

How To Search

  1. From United's homepage, select Advanced search

  2. Choose to show price in miles

  3. Select Roundtrip or One-way

  4. Enter the origin & destination

  5. Select Nonstop only (if you don't need a connection)

  6. Select the number of passengers

  7. Select your dates or choose Flexible dates and choose a month

  8. Select Business

Once you know the exact dates you want, run a search with the program you'll use to book. As always, I recommend confirming the program you're using sees the award space before you transfer points.
