Royal Air Maroc Business Class to Casablanca from $1,595
Here's one to keep in your back pocket! Royal Air Maroc consistently has a great non-stop business class fare from Montreal to Casablanca that sits between ~$1,550 and ~$1,620 round-trip.
While Morocco has plenty to offer itself, this fare could easily serve as a backdoor into Europe. Since I know many of you want to visit European Christmas markets, this could come in handy if award space is tight.
While I often talk about positioning flights within the US, you can also use them at the destination. Fly into Casablanca then get a cheap cash or award ticket to a European destination such as Barcelona, Lisbon, Madrid, Paris, etc.
Now, let's get into it!

Flight Experience
On many dates, Royal Air Maroc operates a Boeing 787-8 on this route. This aircraft has their older 2-2-2 business class product. The seats are still lie-flat but only the middle seats are guaranteed aisle access.
A couple of times per week, you'll find flights on their Boeing 787-9 which has a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone cabin layout. As such each seat will have direct aisle access and more privacy.
Regardless of which aircraft type, Royal Air Maroc has received solid marks for their inflight food and beverage options as well as friendly crew members.

How To Book
With points, you'll use the fewest points via the Amex Business Platinum's 35% rebate at 103,770 points. Alternatively, if you have the Sapphire Reserve, you'll get a similar rate at 107,430 points but it's a bit easier since it's not a rebate.
I will note some online travel agents (OTAs) have a cheaper rate. Specifically, I saw it as low as $1,520 via Travelcation. I have no experience with this OTA. Personally, I'd rather book directly with Royal Air Maroc if paying cash.

Where To Credit The Flights
As this is a cash fare, you can earn redeemable miles. This books into "I" (eye) fare class. You can use Where To Credit to see your options for earning miles.
If redeemable miles are the priority, choosing an airline that also has bank transfer partners is often ideal. For example, British Airways and Cathay Pacific both have a few transfer partners. American Airlines has one partner in Bilt while Alaska Airlines doesn't have a bank partner (but their earn rate is great).
If you have elite status with a particular program, that could also factor into which program to which you credit these flights.
Use GCMap to check the flight distance and calculate redeemable miles.

Final Thoughts
Whether you're looking for a trip to Morocco or a clever way to get to Europe, this is a solid option. Even better, you can regularly find business class on this route for around $1,600 so it's a great one to remember.
Happy booking!
