Flight Experience

ANA first class is arranged in a 1-2-1 cabin layout. Just be aware that there’s a new version with doors and an old version without doors. The new version is much nicer, but the older version still offers a massive, comfortable seat.

Plus, the crews are amazing and the inflight dining gets high marks.

Best Ways To Book

Virgin: Great Rate, Crazy Deal With Transfer Bonus

Virgin Atlantic already has the best rates on all three routes, but this is an insane deal if you have Amex points thanks to a 40% transfer bonus. Here’s how many Amex points you’d need for each route:

  • HNL: 42,000 Amex points -> 57,500 Virgin points

  • SFO: 52,000 Amex points -> 72,500 Virgin points

  • ORD: 61,000 Amex points -> 85,000 Virgin points

Given that Virgin’s rates are the best without the transfer bonus, this is your best option regardless of which transferable points you have.

Just remember you need to call to book. More on that below.
