Alaska: Great Rate, Transfer Bilt Points
At 70,000 miles one-way, this is the fewest number of miles you can use. While Alaska miles aren’t the easiest to earn, you do have the option to transfer Bilt points.
American: Great Rate, Tough To Earn
If you think Alaska miles are tough to earn, American miles are even tougher. The rate is the same at 70,000 miles one-way, but AA isn’t a transfer partner with any banks.
Cathay: Decent Rate, Easy To Earn
The rate of 89,000 miles one-way isn’t as great, but you can transfer Amex, Bilt, Capital One, and Citi points to Cathay. This makes it a much more accessible option for many people.
Avios: Decent Rate, Easy To Earn
Finnair Plus requires 90,500 Avios for a one-way award which is just 1,500 miles more than Cathay. While Finnair is only a transfer partner of Capital One, you can combine Avios from other Avios programs - Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, and Qatar Airways.
