AA Business Class To Madrid, Up To 4 Seats
Hello again from Singapore!
On the heals of American business class award space to Barcelona, we have some space to Madrid from New York and Charlotte.
Personally, I love Madrid and can't wait to go back. Great food, wine, history, etc. It's hard to go wrong. Check out the famous cocktail bar Salmon Guru, go on a food tour, and just explore!
While including a connection can increase the award rate, I'm seeing additional dates with availability. American is weird like that.

Now, let's get into it!

Protect Your Credit Card Points & Benefits
I may earn a commission if you use the links below.
You might recall that a couple of members in the House and Senate were pushing a bill that would wreck credit card points and benefits.
Why am I talking about this now?
Simply put, when things are quiet, you can bet work is being done behind the scenes.
In fact, one of my friends from my time in politics was offered work to promote this legislation being pushed by Big Box stores.
If you'd like to help protect your and your friends' credit card points and benefits, take two seconds to sign a letter to Congress.

Flight Experience
American operates a Boeing 777 out of JFK and MIA. Business class is arranged in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone cabin layout so each seat is lie-flat and has direct aisle access. All things considered, it's nice seat.
Flights out of ORD and PHL are on a Boeing 787. The cabin layout is 1-2-1 and some seats are rear facing. Many consider the 777 to be a nicer experience.
You may prefer to eat at the Greenwich Lounge (JFK) or the Flagship Lounge (MIA/ORD). Inflight service can be a mixed bag but American has a solid selection of entertainment options to keep you occupied.

Best Ways To Book
Cathay: Solid Rate, Reduced Surcharges, Easy To Earn
Cathay just devalued its award chart, but the business class rate to Europe on oneworld partners only increased by 2,000 miles. That means you can book a one-way award for 63,000 miles. You can transfer points from Amex, Bilt, Capital One, and Citi.
Qantas: Solid Rate, Reduced Surcharges, Easy To Earn
Qantas isn't usually a great option, but 68,400 points to/from Europe is a solid one-way business class award rate especially when you consider that you can transfer Amex, Capital One, and Citi points.
Alaska: Great Rate, No Surcharges
While Alaska miles are tough to earn, you can book for only 57,500 miles one-way and you won't be on the hook for any surcharges.
American: Solid Rate, No Surcharges
If you have American miles or Bilt points, you can book most dates with 78,000 miles one-way or round-trip for 130,000 miles. A few dates are available for 122,400 miles round-trip. Like Alaska, you won't be on the hook for surcharges.

Final Thoughts
It's great to see American releasing business class award space to France. It's a country that has so much to offer. Whether you stay in Paris or venture out to the champagne region, you won't be disappointed.
Happy booking!
