American Airlines Business Class to Munich
If you didn't know American has a Charlotte-Munich flight, I don't blame you! It's not talked about often. Fortunately for us, there's a decent bit of business class award space this spring and even some this summer.
Now, let's get into it!

Best Ways To Book
Cathay: Solid Rate, Reduced Surcharges, Easy To Earn
With the ability to transfer Amex, Bilt, Capital One, and Citi points to Cathay, this is one of the best options at 63,000 miles one-way. Plus, Cathay doesn't pass on all of the carrier-imposed surcharges.
Connections on other oneworld partners within Europe will bump you to Cathay's oneworld multi-carrier award chart which will change the rate.
Additionally, Cathay has a distanced-based award chart so connections can increase the miles required.
Qantas: Solid Rate, Reduced Surcharges, Easy To Earn
Qantas isn't usually a great option, but 68,400 points from Charlotte is a solid one-way business class award rate especially when you consider that you can transfer Amex, Capital One, and Citi points.
Connections could increased the points required as Qantas has a distance-based award chart.
You'll only be on the hook for some of the carrier-imposed surcharges so the total taxes fees will be ~$233 on the outbound - much better $985!
Alaska: Great Rate, No Surcharges
While Alaska miles are tough to earn, you can book for only 57,500 miles one-way. You can include a stopover within the US if you connect on Alaska.
American: Solid Rate, No Surcharges
If you have American miles or Bilt points, you can use 124,000 miles for a round-trip award ticket with no surcharges.
The one-way rate is too steep to consider. However, adding a connection on a oneworld partner within Europe will reduce the miles required to the partner award rate of 57,5000 miles one-way.

Final Thoughts
This is a particularly good option for those who live in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, but you can find connections from all over the U.S. If you've been looking for a spring break trip, I wouldn't hesitate to jump on this!
