Singapore Suites To Germany For 2!
Recently, I sent an Award Alert with business class space for 4 on Singapore Airlines. Well, today, I'm back with Suites Class to Germany.
If you're planning a trip for next fall, this is a great opportunity to enjoy some insane luxury complete with Dom Perignon and Krug champagne. I'll let you decide which you prefer after doing an extensive taste test.
You might even be able to include a stopover on your way to Singapore.
Shout out to my friend JT Genter for flagging space on the outbound!
Now, let's get into the award space!

A shot of my Suite in December 2016. I was so bad at taking photos, but the 360° camera was fun!

DISCLAIMER: Please be aware that the COVID-19 situation and the resulting travel restrictions could prevent you from traveling. Additionally, please make sure you understand the cancellation, redeposit, and change fees required before booking with a particular program.
Flight Experience
While this isn't the new Suites layout, you'll still have plenty of room to stretch out in this 1-2-1 configuration. Considering that the crews are excellent and you'll have your choice of champagne, you're in for a treat.
Similarly, the inflight catering gets high marks with their "Book the Cook" feature which allows you to pre-order your meal from an extensive selection.
Please keep in mind that Suites Class is only available on the A380. On the B777-300, you'll find first class with the same offering but the seat won't be quite as fancy - no privacy doors.

Best Ways To Book
Unfortunately, only Singapore KrisFlyer members can book premium cabin awards on Singapore Airlines (minus a few rare instances). Fortunately, 86,000 miles one-way is a solid award for first class and there aren't any surcharges.
If you want to continue to Singapore or somewhere else in Southeast Asia, you'll need 132,000 KrisFlyer miles for a one-way first class award.

If you include a connection on a Star Alliance partner, you'll need to reference Singapore's Star Alliance award chart.

How To Book
You'll need to use Singapore Air to search for award space.
- Select redeem miles
- You'll be prompted to log into your account
- Enter the origin & destination
- Select your dates
- Select the class of service
- Select the number of people
- Run the search
- Select the flight
- Complete the booking
Transfers from bank partners (and Marriott) are not instant. Newer accounts have seen slower transfer times in the past. Plan on transfers taking up to 48 hours. Maybe, you'll get lucky and it'll take less than 12 hours!
Holds, Stopovers, and Mixed-Cabin Awards
If you want to do any of these three things, you'll need to call to book. The number is 800-742-3333. I generally try to call during office hours in Singapore.
Holds
Holding award space takes a bit of luck, but I've had success doing so in the past (though not every time). It really depends on the phone agent so be ready to hang up, call again (HUCA). If they refuse, stay friendly and don't argue.
Stopovers
If you want to include a stopover on a saver level award on your way to/from Singapore, you'll need to call Singapore Air to book it. You'll also need to pay ~$100 plus taxes/fees to include a stopover on a one-way saver award. One stopover will be free on a round-trip saver award though.
Please keep in mind that Singapore Air can do some weird things with married segments. You might find it easier to include a stopover in Frankfurt on your way to Singapore than to simply book a connection.
Mixed-Cabin Awards
Your award will price out at the first class rate if you include a business class connection. However, if you connect or stopover in Singapore on your way to somewhere else in SE Asia, you will likely need a business class segment. To book this, you'll need to call.
Bottom Line
It's been five years since I flew Singapore Suites and I would happily do it again. If you're thinking about a trip to Oktoberfest next year, this could be a seriously fun way to fly to Germany.
Happy booking!
