Royal Air Maroc Business Class to Casablanca from $1,638

My mission to find reasonable business class cash fares (and award space) for summer travel continues. While I recently sent some award space on Royal Air Maroc from a few airports, I wanted to flag a good cash deal as well.

While this deal is only from Montreal, it could still work well if you can book a separate positioning flight. Heck, you could even visit Morocco then book a short flight to any of several European cities.

Now, let's get into it!

Travel Restrictions and Requirements

With travel restrictions changing by the day, please take a look at the US embassy site for your destination. Here's a link to Morocco to get you started.

Flight Experience

Royal Air Maroc operates a Boeing 787-9 and 787-8 on this route.

The newer business class cabin is found on the 787-9. It's a simple 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout so each seat will be lie-flat, have direct aisle access, and plenty of privacy.

Flights on the 787-8 will have the older 2-2-2 business class cabin. The seats are still lie-flat but only the middle seats are guaranteed aisle access with no one needing to step over you.

Regardless of which aircraft type, Royal Air Maroc has gotten solid marks for its inflight food and beverage options as well as friendly crew members.

Best Ways To Book

With points, you'll use the fewest points via the Amex Business Platinum's 35% rebate at 106,144 points. However, you do need 163,299 points upfront. Alternatively, if you have the Sapphire Reserve, you'll get a similar rate at 108,866 points but it's a bit easier since it's not a rebate.

For a cash ticket, both Amex Travel and the Chase travel portal seem to have a slightly cheaper rate than booking direct.

I will note some online travel agents (OTAs) had an even cheaper rate. I'll let you decide how you feel about those options. Specifically, I saw it as low as $1,556 via Bravofly. I have no experience with this OTA.

Where To Credit The Flights

Where To Credit hasn't been updated to show all of the possible oneworld programs to which you could credit these flights. Below, I've included the percentage of the flight distance that's used to calculate how many redeemable miles you can earn with this booking. If you have elite status with a particular program, that could also factor into which program to which you credit these flights.

Use GCMap to check the flight distance and calculate redeemable miles.

Bottom Line

With airfare on the rise, this is a solid option if you're looking for a business class ticket to Casablanca. Don't forget, it's only a short flight to places such as Spain and Portugal - you could visit Morocco then fly to Europe for a few days.

Happy booking!
