Vietnam Airlines Business Class, Up To 4 Seats

I’ve been keeping an eye on Vietnam Airlines business class space and waiting for a transfer bonus. Well, the 1-2 punch of award space and a transfer bonus finally popped, so this is a great opportunity to book non-stop business class to Vietnam.

Considering how difficult it has been to find award space across the Pacific, this is a great opportunity to book up to 4 people to Southeast Asia.

If you can book round-trip, you can get an even better rate!

Now, let’s get into it!

Flight Experience

Vietnam Airlines operates an Airbus A350 on this route. The business class cabin is arranged in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout which means each seat is lie-flat and has direct aisle access.

On my flight from Hanoi to Tokyo, I found the crew to be friendly and the catering to be solid overall. I wouldn’t say it’ll win any awards, but it’s a solid way to fly

Best Ways To Book

ANA: Best Round-Trip Rate

If you’re booking round-trip, 136,000 ANA miles is your best bet. The total taxes/fees are only ~$45. Just keep in mind that transfers from Amex can take a few days.

Flying Blue: Best Rate + Citi Transfer Bonus

The one-way business class rate of 100,500 Flying Blue miles is steep, but it’s the only one-way option I would consider as its so much better than Virgin and Delta’s rates.

Plus, with Amex’s 20% transfer bonus, you’d only need to transfer 84,000 points and that’s a great rate for business class to Asia.
