Finnair Biz Class To Dubrovnik From $1,818

Dubrovnik may be a popular destination for Game of Thrones fans but there's still plenty of other reasons to visit, especially if you're a fan of wine. Of course, there are other amazing places to visit in Croatia so you can make an adventure of it.

With this Finnair deal, you can find dates for four people in business class and you can book for fewer points than many awards require. Not bad for a summer trip to Europe if you ask me!

I'll note that the connection in Helsinki can be 20+ hours on some dates. However, you might prefer that so you can visit the city for a day.

Now, let's get into it!

Travel Restrictions and Requirements

With travel restrictions changing by the day, please take a look at the US embassy site for your destination. Here's a link to Finland to get you started.

Flight Experience

This route is operated by one of Finnair's Airbus A350 so you'll have their newest inflight product. The cabin is arranged in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout so everyone will have direct aisle access in addition to a lie-flat seat.

On my flight in July, I found the service to be friendly and attentive (but not intrusive). While I wouldn't say the food is the best you'll find in business class, it's more than good enough.

If anything, Finnair is known for its glassware - probably my favorite in the sky. So, enjoy a glass of champagne or one of the blueberry-based cocktails.

Here's a Google Flights link to speed up your search for exact dates.

How To Book

Please note that Finnair now sells Business Class Lite fares that do not come with a free checked bag, seat selection, or lounge access. However, in my searches, these fares ares showing as Business Class Classic fares which do include the typical benefits of a business class ticket.

If you're booking a cash ticket, I'd book direct. I will note that it might be easier to book via AA when connections are longer. If you choose to use points, it's a solid deal if you have the Sapphire Reserve or Amex Biz Platinum.

Where To Credit The Flights

Since these are cash tickets, you can earn redeemable airline miles so make sure to attach your desired loyalty program number to your booking.

If you're not sure which program to use, I'd start by checking Where To Credit to see which options will earn you the most redeemable miles.

I'd consider crediting these flights to one of the following programs:
  • Alaska Mileage Plan: 125%
  • American AAdvantage: 125%
  • British Airways Executive Club: 125%
If you're just looking to for redeemable miles, you might consider a program in which you can transfer bank points or one in which you earn miles via co-branded card. However, if you're looking for an elite status boost, crediting to that program might be a priority.

You can use GCMap to check the total flight distance if you want to calculate redeemable and status qualifying miles.

Bottom Line

If you have American miles, you might prefer to look for Finnair award space. However, the miles aren't the easiest to earn and you can often find no more than 2, maybe 3, award seats. As such, this deal provides a great option if you have Amex or Chase points and/or need to book 4 people.

Happy booking!
