Since Barcelona is popular destination request among Premium members, I wanted to flag some space at the end of the year.
While I know many go for the beaches, this is worth a look if you want to try Spanish cuisine or hop off to another destination with Christmas Markets.
While including a connection can increase the award rate, I'm seeing additional dates with availability. American is weird like that.

Final Thoughts
If you're looking for a way to fly to Europe to visit some Christmas Markets this is a great option. If Barcelona isn't high on your list, you can also take a train to Madrid or catch a quick flight.
