| Flight Experience
For the best experience, you'll want to find Air France and KLM flights operated by aircraft with a 1-2-1 business class cabin layout. This will provide the most privacy and direct aisle access in addition to a lie-flat seat.
Please keep in mind that there’s a chance a flight could be operated by an aircraft with a 2-2-2 layout. You’ll still have a lie-flat seat, but not seats have direct aisle access and you won’t have much privacy.
Personally, I prefer KLM’s crews, while Air France’s catering has a slight advantage.
KLM’s newest business class product can be found on their Boeings 777s. It’s arranged in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout and each seat has a privacy door.
Your next best option is on a Boeing 787 which has a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout, but without doors. With either layout, you’ll have a lie-flat seat with direct aisle access.
I would avoid their Airbus A330 if possible as it’s a 2-2-2 layout. While it provides a lie-flat seat, you don’t get much privacy and only the middle section has direct aisle access without your neighbor needing to step over you.
Generally speaking, I prefer KLM’s crews to Air France. However, the catering isn’t top of the line so you might prefer Air France for that reason. |
