| | | Flight Experience | Air France | Most Air France aircraft have a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout in business class. Some Airbus A350s, have a staggered 1-2-1 layout similar to United Polaris. | If you fly an Airbus A350 with the reverse herringbone layout or one of the refurbished Boeing 777-300s with the new reverse herringbone seats, the bulkhead is one of the best business class seats in the sky. | You can typically expect quality inflight catering with a solid crew. However, service quality can vary from flight to flight. | KLM | Their newest business class product can be found on their Boeings 777s. It’s arranged in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout and each seat has a privacy door. | Your next best option is on a Boeing 787 which has a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout, but without doors. With either layout, you’ll have a lie-flat seat with direct aisle access. | I would avoid their Airbus A330 if possible as it’s a 2-2-2 layout. While it provides a lie-flat seat, you don’t get much privacy and only the middle section has direct aisle access without your neighbor needing to step over you. | Generally speaking, I prefer KLM’s crews to Air France. However, the catering isn’t top of the line so you might prefer Air France for that reason. | | How To Search | Search with Air France: | Select "Book with miles" Select "Log in" Sign into your account Enter your origin/destination Enter your travel date(s) Enter the number of passengers Enter the class of service Run the search Select your flights
| You can call to hold award space or book a stopover. The US number is 800-375-8723. Transfers to Flying Blue are generally instant. | Virgin Atlantic Flying Club will put award space on hold for up to 24 hours, but you'll need to call to do so (800-862-8621). | Happy booking! |
