| Etihad offers one of the best first class experiences in The Apartments on its Airbus A380s. Of course, first class on their Boeing 787 is pretty impressive too!
The tough part is that Etihad doesn’t release much, if any, space to partners are there award rates are steep. Fortunately, there’s a 40% transfer bonus that can greatly reduce the cost of an award ticket right now. Just keep in mind that Etihad Guest’s cancellation fees are rough (more on that below).

Etihad's Apartments are arranged in a 1-1 cabin layout. Your seat is separate from your bed. Personally, I like the rear-facing window seats (3A and 3K). Plus, there's an inflight shower. You can expect caviar, champagne, and a very nice meal. With only 9 seats in the cabin, the service is also quite impressive.

Etihad: More Award Space, Easy To Earn
Let’s be frank, Etihad’s award rates are steep and the cancellation fees are egregious. While speculative bookings can make sense with other programs, I recommend only using Etihad miles when you’re confident you’ll take the trip.
Unfortunately, Etihad Guest is your only option to book The Apartments right now and the only way to book first class beyond October. Even if first class is 160,000 miles and The Apartments is 200,000 miles, that does allow you to plan ahead.
If you have Citi ThankYou Points, that’s where the real sweet spot is right now. You can a 40% bonus when you transfers 50,000+ points. That means you’ll only need to transfer 115,000 points for first class and 143,000 points for The Apartments.
Please note that this transfer promo is run by Etihad so you won’t see the bonus reflected when you transfer points from Citi.
Important: The terms state that the bonus points will post within 15 business days from the end of the promo, October 31, 2024. However, when Etihad ran the same promo for Capital One earlier this year, the bonus miles generally posted right away.
