JAL Business Class to Vietnam from $1,897

If you have an Amex Platinum or Business Platinum (or a Centurion), you might have seen an Amex Offer for $300 off $1,000+ spent on an Amex Travel booking with the International Airline Program (IAP).

With that in mind, I thought I'd share a fun deal for Japan Airlines business class deal to Vietnam that's priced lower than many options to Europe these days. Throw in the $300 credit and you are looking at an awesome deal.

I'll caution that availability at the cheapest rate is not widespread.

Now, let's get into it!

Travel Restrictions and Requirements

With travel restrictions changing by the day, please take a look at the US embassy site for your destination. Here's a link to Vietnam to get you started.

Flight Experience

Japan Airlines has a reputation for great service so a business class flight should be more than enjoyable. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that JAL operates different aircraft to/from North America.

The 777-300's business class is arranged in a 2-3-2 layout with Apex Suites. While a 2-3-2 layout might seem like a nightmare, each seat is lie-flat and has direct aisle access. Breathe easy. The window seats provide a ton of privacy and are preferred by many.

The 787-9 has a 2-2-2 business class layout (Apex Suites). Again, the window seats are a favorite for optimal privacy.

Best Ways To Book

To get the best cash rate, you'll need an Amex Platinum or Business Platinum and the Amex Offer for $300 off $1,000+ on an Amex IAP fare.

Where To Credit The Flights

I believe these fares will book under I (eye) fare class - I would confirm this after booking though. You can use Where To Credit to check which options would earn the most redeemable miles or help you earn elite status.

I think Alaska, American, or British Airways are going to be the best options for most people. It's worth considering if you earn points that can be transferred to any of these programs as well.

Use GCMap to check the flight distance and calculate redeemable miles.

Bottom Line

While there isn't widespread availability for this fare, it's certainly worth booking if you can line up dates with your schedule. Besides, I know many of you have been looking for an excuse to visit Southeast Asia again!

Happy booking!
